The weather impacts everyone, every day, and we believe in the amazing power of artificial intelligence to improve and save lives everywhere. That's why we're innovating state-of-the-art deep learning models to predict and detect weather phenomena. Our software will revolutionize forecasting and change the world.
learn more about usCirrai was formed because we saw a problem: forecasting the weather is no easy task, even with the power of numerical weather prediction available. We set out to build better, quicker, and actionable forecasts using generative AI. Although a perfect forecast might not exist, we won't stop trying to get there.
EARLY 2022
The idea for an AI-driven weather company was first dreamed of by a then-sixteen-year-old in March of 2022. Adam, then a sophomore in high school, conceived the name "Cirrai" to encapsulate this idea, a combination of cirrus clouds (the best kind of clouds) and AI, the ubiquitous abbreviation for artificial intelligence. In this way, the name immediately conveys the company's purpose — to forecast the weather with AI.
SUMMER 2022 THROUGH YEAR-END 2023
Over the course of two summers, Adam intensely studied modern AI & deep learning, and attempted his own implementations of the technologies. He launched the company on November 26th, 2022, and kept building from there.
EARLY 2024 THROUGH PRESENT
As college applications wrapped up and the market for AI exploded (look no further than NVDA), Adam raced to build something entirely new. While low-resolution global AI models had existed for several months, he wanted to be far more ambitious and build a high-resolution, generative AI model that focused on predicting the weather across the US, a model he'd soon call Sapphire.
THE (NEAR) FUTURE
Following the announcement of Sapphire, we're working tirelessly to finish developing & training the first version — targeting a launch by the end of Q3 2024. As our resources expand, we'll release more powerful & insightful versions of Sapphire and its ensemble counterpart, Decipher, going forward.
