our mission

The weather impacts everyone, every day, and we believe in the amazing power of artificial intelligence to improve and save lives everywhere. That's why we're innovating state-of-the-art deep learning models to predict and detect weather phenomena. Our software will revolutionize forecasting and change the world.

learn more about us

We're more than just an AI startup — we are innovating new ways to forecast & detect dangerous (and everyday) weather.

Cirrai was created because we saw a problem. Forecasts and nowcasts for hazardous weather (like tornadoes) can be hard for forecasters to keep up with, especially during severe outbreaks. And no forecast — human or computer-generated — is perfect. Although it may be impossible to create the perfect forecast in just seconds, we won't stop trying.

WHO WE ARE

our story

MARCH 2022
The idea for an AI-driven weather company was first dreamed of by a then-sixteen-year-old in March 2022. Adam, then a sophomore in high school, had previously both founded a social media platform for weather, WxSocial, and co-founded a weather learning platform, Weather Academy, in 2020.

APRIL 2022
At the start of Q2 2022, he conceived the name "Cirrai" for this proposed startup, a combination of cirrus clouds (the best kind of clouds) and AI, a common abbreviation for artificial intelligence. In this way, the name immediately conveys the company's purpose — to forecast the weather with AI.

SUMMER & FALL 2022
Over the summer, Adam learned modern AI techniques and coded in order to create his first attempt at a model. During fall, he built a website and continued building a model, which will eventually become the Decipher product. The name for Decipher originated from the algorithm's purpose — to detect and decipher the location of tornadoes from weather data using high-level mathematics. The startup was officially launched on November 26th, 2022.

THE PRESENT AND FUTURE
Following the launch, we plan to release our Decipher model, along with its counterpart, a weather visualization interface called CloudDeck, by the end of Q1 2024. Beyond that point, we will continue to expand our model offering and work to improve existing models, including Decipher.
